How Busy Moms Avoid Ironing

February 2nd, 2010 | By Rebecca Thorman | 11 Comments

Julia of The Frugal Find has a secret… she doesn’t own an iron! I’m not a big fan of ironing myself, so I was excited to learn that a product like Downy Wrinkle Releaser actually works, and as Julia mentions, saves time to boot!

I’m looking forward to trying it. In the meantime, check out Julia’s blog, and let us know: What are your ironing shortcuts and tips? Any products you particularly enjoy to help with the task?

Downy Wrinkle Releaser has a GoodGuide.com Health rating of 2.1 out of 10! Ouch!
Do yourself and your children a favor and AVOID this product! Find any other way to deal with wrinkles: ironing, better fabric choice, take them out of the drier as soon as it’s done, or just live with a few wrinkles (it won’t kill you, unlike Downy…)

Here’s a big secret… I get the same results with WATER. Yup! Spray the wrinkles – pull and tug a little here and here… wah lah… wrinkles gone!

OR for big wrinkles put a little water on a t-shirt and rerun the wrinkled item with the damp t-shirt.

    Not rocket science.

i wash my shirts in cold water and hang them out on hangers to dry straight after the wash and never have to iron them. I do the same with my pants.

Oh yes, I too do not iron shirts. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wrinkle releaser. The only use my iron gets is when I’m sewing!

This is a good idea. I would just throw it back in the dryer for a few minutes lol.
